Michigan photographs collection, 1865-1976 and undated, include: mostly Clare, Clare County, and some Missaukee County (Mich.) lumber camps, lumber yards, lumber companies, and lumber men. Of interest are two portraits of Jack Livingston and Isaiah Leebove. Livingston shot Leebove in the Doherty Hotel in Clare (Mich.) in a Purple Gang of Detroit related shooting. Also, there is a photograph of Meek with Senator Robert P. Griffin.

Meek was born in 1928 and graduated from Hastings High School in 1946. He served in the military after World War II, 1947-1948, and in the army rserves, 1947-1952. In 1986 he retired after teaching in public schools in Lansing, Kentwood, and Clare (Mich.) for 26 years. He served as the Clare County campaign chairman for Senator Robert Griffin during his 1976 re-election campaign.
